Going Deeper: What is Spiritual Direction?
This session explores the experience of spiritual
direction as a way to go deeper into the meaning of life. “Spiritual
direction encourages you to explore a closer relationship with God. In
the midst of a busy life, many people find it difficult to notice God’s
action in their daily affairs. Yet, at the deepest level, all of us
long for amore conscious experience of God’s presence and love.”

MONDAY MORNINGS
Mondays with Mary
“All over the world, glorious poetry, stained glass
windows, sculptures, shrines, and breathtaking chapels have been created
by artists to glorify Mary and to honor her memory. Each year 12
million people make pilgrimages to Our Lady of Guadalupe in Mexico
alone, and countless millions more travel to Marian shrines all over the
world. Muslims revere Mary more than any other woman in history and
regard her as a prophet. An entire chapter in the Qur’an is devoted to
her, and many mosques offer prayer niches in the eastern corner that are
dedicated to Mary. Mondays with Mary invites you on a sacred pilgrimage
with Mary that celebrates both her historical life on earth and her
momentous influence on the human heart ever since. This will be an
opportunity to go deeper into your own spirituality and grow in
self-discovery and self-understanding while growing closer to Mary, a
woman, guide, mentor, sister and friend.” Each session will include
meditation, reflection, sharing and an exercise in freeing the creative
spirit. This sacred pilgrimage will be an affordable journey of untold

TUESDAY MORNINGS
1st Tuesday Mornings: Women At the Well: Group
Spiritual Direction
There is a story of a woman who had an experience of
doing a thirty day Outward Bound program. A whole month in the
wilderness! Two things made an impression on her: how we can survive
on so few things and the importance of companions. We may not need a
lot of things but we do need good companions. These are persons who
share their experience and we share ours. In Group Spiritual Direction
women gather for companionship, prayer and reflection. The participants
listen and share with one another from the well of their experiences and

Gospels. Praying with Francis of Assisi sessions will invite

pray about their own life in light of what they have learned from this
holy, challenging man. The sessions will explore various key themes and

Tuesday Mornings: Praying With Psalms: Invitation to
Wholeness
(March through June)
Who has not yearned to experience the harmony of the
inner spirit? The Psalms of Hebrew scripture often convey a harsh and
vengeful God. With a contemporary approach to the text of the Psalms,
a deep sense of reverence and soul-stirring dialogue with the divine
become a
source of peace, strength, light and courage. Psalms can
be an invitation to wholeness. In these four sessions, we will explore
the Psalms from the perspective of new insights that will touch that
place of yearning within your inner spirit. What are your favorite
Psalms? How are they helping you toward wholeness? What Psalms feed
your spirit in difficult time? happy times? times of longing? Bring
your bible and your favorite psalms. Materials provided.

Scripture Prayer Pattern
“Recovery is a life-long journey for both the chemically
dependent and co-dependent, for both the person with an addiction and
the co-addicted, a journey that begins with our acceptance of our
powerlessness, and advances as daily we renew our commitment to truth,
to growth, to life, as we step out one day at a time.” (John Veltri,

freshness of unclaimed surprises. Yet, something in us can also be
aware of the challenges that lie before us and the unclaimed energy that
is needed for growth. Where do we go for the nourishment that is needed
to once
more open the door of the new year? What happens in my
as I look to the year past and its blessings and
burdens? In this retreat evening, we’ll gather in prayer
and companionship with one another and with the Lord who “stands with
outstretched hand and gently asks, can we walk this year together?
